The weekend is almost here and we know some of you may be in a writing slump (writer’s block will do that to you) so we’ve created a writing prompt for you guys!
Imagine your main character is walking through the woods and they come across a mysterious hooded figure. Who is it? What do they want? And what will your character do?
Here are some potential ideas:
-The mysterious hooded figure is a long-lost friend or relative. Your main character is thrilled to have found them but they soon realize something is off. Their friend/relative isn’t telling them everything…
-Your main character planned to meet with this figure privately. Why? Are they having a forbidden romance or are they plotting together?
-The meeting was completely accidental but the figure was waiting for you. They speak in a strange tongue your character doesn’t understand. They follow your character, almost like a ghost, and it looks like they are warning your character of something. A twig snaps. What happens?
Hopefully, not only will this prompt help you connect with your creativity again, but it might even create a new dimension to your characters!
So, did the prompt work? Did you like it? Dislike it? What type of story did you write? Let us know in the comments below!
